 The Hyundai Malfunction Contest was heldt Kingscliff Beach, on the Tweed Coast. Waves throughout the week were excellent, with a nice bank in front of the surf club, and south winds.

 Tuned into the Quiksilver Eddie Aikau this week, held over one day at huge Waimea. Not really longboarding, but they were riding long boards! 25-30 foot waves, and some sets even closing out the bay. Others rolling right through to the monster shorebreak.
It was fun to watch the contest both online and on Fox TV's Fuel Network, which went live all day. Maybe the Pipe Masters will do the same?
Can't believe they were on 10-footers but not one noseide amongst the whole lot of them. Wimps!

2009 ISA World Surfing Games |
 The ISA World Surfing Games have been run and won in Costa Rica. The Americans came out on top for the first time since their 1996 victory. France was second, and Australia third, despite a great performance by Harley Ingleby, who came second in the Longboard division.
