Among other great features, this issue wraps up the fantastic round of pro longboarding events we experienced this year.
The Noosa Festival of Surfing was held on a slightly offshore formation that had everyone comparing it to the Snapper Rocks “Superbank”. Our coverage brings you the outstanding photos, and a full report on what went down.
Next stop was the long-running Malfunction, and while Kingscliff Beach wasn’t quite as generous in the waves provided, it still gave surfers plenty of very surfable conditions, and another great week of socialising.
With Harley Ingleby taking out the latter contest, who better to grace our cover? What makes this shot unique is that it’s a self-portrait, and was his first time shooting surf-photos with this camera!
Lightbox allows us to present both directions taking place in longboarding ... a little bit of nose-cruising, and some high-performance on both small and testing waves.
Byron Bay is where we head for the Lifestyle section. A few great ideas for places to hit when next you visit that iconic location. And Mark Riley leads us through the processes in making your own solid-balsa, work-of-art board.
Boardroom Bob and Torquay seem to have a never-ending lineup of outstanding surfing items to reveal, and the Grahams’ accommodation for visiting surfers is an amazing way to make your backyard more hospitable.
Throw in another interesting moment on the road from Jimmy O’Keefe, in Perceptions; and all the news that matters in Dispatches; as well as our State Wraps; and you have an issue full of information and great surfing.
