The annual Five Ways contest between Sydney's Northern Beaches five
longboard clubs was held at North Curl Curl on the last weekend in
October ...
The Curl Curl club hosted a great event, with nice nor-east windswell waves all day, and the barbie going non-stop.
As well as Open, Junior, Women and Over 55 competitors, clubs had to field one over 100kg surfer, plus there was a heat where surfers had to ride a BiC.
For something like the eighth year in a row, the very strong Manly Longboard Club came out well ahead, followed by Palm Beach, Freshwater, Curl Curl and Long Reef.
Days like this are what longboard clubs are all about ... beautiful summer weather, surfable waves, and great company. Well done to the Curly crew.
And thanks to Palmie's Malcolm Walsh for the photos ... there are more on their website at: www.surfingaustralia.com.au
