The inaugural Smarts Concrete Agnes Water Longboard Classic, presented by Sandcastles 1770 Motel and Resort, was finalised on Thursday, March 5, 2009.

Little known US surfer Troy Mothershead took out three WLT competitors to score his win – namely Jared Neal (Coffs Harbour NSW), Taylor Jensen (USA), and Jackson Close (Currumbin QLD).

The Womens was tough for Chelsea Williams too. After all, the runner-up was 2007 WLT World Champion Jennifer Smith (USA), followed by WA’s Georgia Young and then Queenslander Rosie Locke.
