 Tasmanian surfers wishing to compete alongside the likes of their 2009 team, shown here at Port Macquarie, should know that their qualifying events start in January.
All three rounds of the State Titles will be held in conjuction with the State Junior Sries.
The first State Round is to be held with the Red Herring Bruny Island Juniors, on the weekend of January 16, 17.
The coordinator of the event, Jo Goldfinch, is running a junior longboard section on the Friday afternoon to try and encourage more juniors and their parents into the longboard ranks.
There is to be a barbecue on the Saturday evening at the Bruny Island school, with a session and discussion on the "Art of Malibu Riding" to be convened by Bruny local and current State longboard champ Kane McLeod.
The second round is the South Coast Juniors, to be held over the weekend of Februrary 20/21, with the final round being the East Coast Juniors on the weekend of March 17/18.
