2010 State Titles
jack_june10.jpgThe various State Titles are being held around the country, with Port Macquarie the venue for the Nationals, Aug 15-21 ... the NSW Titles were completed last week in Coffs Harbour, while the Queensland version was completed the previous weekend on the Gold Coast.

NSW first:

Day one, on Sunday June 20, was held at Diggers Beach. In excellent mostly righthand surf, highest wave scores of the days went to Harley Ingleby in the Opens Mens, and Danny Bond, in the Over 60s. John Fraser also ripped in the Over 45s, as did Jack Lynch (pictured here by Surfinfo ) in the Opens.

Day Two was at MacAulays. Again good waves, some headhigh. An inside right ripbowl, and outside lefts heading down the beach.

Day Three was back at Diggers Beach. A little smaller than Day One, with waves right in the middle of the beach giving both lefts and rights.

Day Four: Diggers again. Very sloppy swell with headhigh waves. The storm producing the waves can be seen on the horizon, with many water spouts being seen in the early morning.

Day Five: Diggers yet again. A little smaller in swell-size, and cleaner wind-wise. A lot of surfers who hadn't competed so far this week were in the water, like the Junior Boys and Girls, and the Eightfooters.

Day Six: Diggers. About the same as Day Five. Everything is now through to finals.

Day Seven: Despite better condition at McAulays, and council approval to hold the event anywhere, finals day was held in poor conditions at Diggers, robbing spectators of what should have been the highlight day.

Still, surfers had a great week in Coffs, and thanks to all the hard workers from the NSW Longboarding Association, and the assistance from Surfing NSW. The Hoey Moey was also a great major sponsor.

Harley Ingleby took out the Open Mens and Nava Young the Ladies, while the spreadsheet downloadable here spells out all the details of every division.

Final results are available here.

Queensland:

Only one weekend was required for the Qld Titles, and numbers seemed quite down on previous years. Josh Constable, pictured below, won a very close final from Jackson Close, Mitch Surman and Clinton Guest.
