FINAL ASP WORLD LONGBOARD EVENT.  The Bear Pro 2011 is heading towards the end of the waiting period. Surfers arrived at Levanto, northern Italy, to overhead waves that Taylor Jenson described as “thumping”. But unfortunately it dropped off for the opening day and has been flat ever since. Hopes are fading for a swell to appear in time. ALB will be filing regular reports, or you can check it direct.

RESTORING THE BIG GROYNE AT KIRRA POINT. The Kirra Beach Restoration Project was initiated by the 2009 Australia Day Kirra Paddle Out. Restoring the big groyne to hopefully recreate the classic waves of the original Kirra is being seriously considered. You can help by filling out the very short online form. Submissions can only be taken up until November 30, so don’t procrastinate. There’s a link to the page via the ALB website’s homepage.

2012 CONTEST NEWS. The Noosa Festival of Surfing keeps supplying info for their event in March next year, and we update them on the ALB website. And what used to be the Malfunction follows straight after the Noosa event – the entry forms for that contest, the Australian Longboard Surfing Open, are now available here.

SURF AND MIRTH XMAS CARDS. Anyone wanting to grab some longboard-flavoured Christmas cards should check out this American website. The cards are $10 for 15, plus postage, and there are various designs to choose from. Check them here!
